Reggie Bush hasn’t even started at Fox Sports but he already put his foot in his mouth when he said he would recruit Urban Meyer to USC. Bush backtracked when he told Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports he said the comments in a “joking manner.” Said Bush: “”Me recruiting Urban Meyer? I’m still trying to learn college football.” The irony is Clay Helton was the … Continue reading Reggie Bush Was “Joking” About Recruiting Urban Meyer
I did a USC lineup where I projected who starts against Fresno State. I picked who I believe should start, not who I think Clay Helton will choose so there is likely to be some discrepancies. OFFENSE QB 10 Jack Sears RB 30 Markese Stepp WR 6 Michael Pittman* WR 8 Amon-Ra St. Brown* WR 21 Tyler Vaughns* TE 83 Josh Falo LT … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Who Will Start Game 1?
USC seems to be a magnet for news. Did you drive by Figueroa Ave. and Exposition Blvd. today? You probably hit a traffic snag. A Los Angeles police officer was thrown off his motorcycle and landed in a fountain at an entrance to USC after a Black SUV collided with another car. The SUV had Inglewood mayor James Butts. It was not known if he … Continue reading Every Day Something Happens At USC

LSU just got a commitment from Antoine Sampah, the No. 1-rated inside linebacker in the nation by Rivals. Sampah is from Woodbridge, Va. Remember when USC used to snag some top national players? Inevitably, someone will say, “doesn’t matter, USC will get Justin Flowe.” Flowe is the No. 3-ranked … Continue reading LSU Keeps Recruiting Circles Around USC
This is how dysfunctional USC is these days. Reggie Bush told the Los Angeles Times he and Matt Leinart will recruit Urban Meyer to USC if Clay Helton struggles. “We’ll definitely be recruiting him,” Bush told the Times. “What makes you think we won’t be recruiters? Nothing is off the table.” So two of the best-known names in USC football are ready to help replace … Continue reading USC Midday Notes: Another Example Of Dysfunction
What do former USC players talk about with each other? Recently, I was with several ex-defensive players, including one who is an All-American. One thing that came up was a play from the USC-Cal game, specifically the 29-yard TD pass from Chase Garbers to Vic Wharton in the third quarter. “What were they thinking giving no help to the slot with no deep defenders?” one … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: What Do Former Players Talk About?
