We will start off the weekend on a lighter note with former USC announcer Mike Walden in the opening segment of first Super Dave show on Showtime. Walden was a great guy off air and didn’t have a huge ego, unlike some USC announcers and, frankly, a lot of broadcasters. And it comes across in his Super Dave segments. If you watch this clip, you … Continue reading USC Saturday Buzz: A Little Different Start To Weekend
I don’t know if you’ve been following the case of Arizona quarterback Jayden de Laura but he and a high school teammate, Wisconsin safety Kamoi Latu, agreed to pay a woman who said she was raped by the players on October 27, 2018, after a high school football game. The victim was 16 years old at the time. De Laura and Latu were also underage. … Continue reading Would USC Have Handled This Differently?
Is the Pac-12 still talking to ESPN or is the cable network out as a primary rightsholder candidate? Yes. I think I’ve been unfollowed by Annenberg Media Sports on twitter. Was it something I wrote? Lincoln Riley spoke at the luncheon today in Newport Beach to announce the list. I put all 42 players at the bottom of this post. A month ago, USC’s odds to win the 2024 NCAA Tournament were 25-1. Today, the odds are 50-1. USC … Continue reading USC Notes: Two Trojans Make Lott List
The story of the two USC students who allegedly stole football jerseys at the NFL Draft took a higher profile after I wrote about it Wednesday. KCAL-TV (Channel 9) did a story on its newscast and web site. Annenberg Media finally acknowledged the situation and obtained a comment from USC: “While limited by student privacy laws in what we can share, we are cooperating with … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: The Media Can’t Even Agree On Pac-12 Deal
