Every coach has to “change the culture” when they take over a job these days. Obviously, Lincoln Riley had to make that Priority No. 1 after he replaced Clay Helton. But Oklahoma coach Brent Venables told boosters Tuesday in Amarillo, Texas, he also had to make changes. “I saw too much casualness, if you will,” Venables said when he showed up for Oklahoma bowl practices … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Culture Changes Even At Oklahoma
For nearly two years, I’ve been writing about the campaign to get actor James Hong a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Well, it happened today. Raiola, a quarterback from Chandler, Ariz., chose the Buckeyes over USC, Georgia and Nebraska, among others. He was the only QB offered from the Class of 2024. Some will say it doesn’t … Continue reading Morning Buzz: One Gets Away From USC
Lincoln Riley is still rebuilding the roster. But at the moment, here are the weaknesses I see for the Trojans. USC has depth issues after Riley enacted a roster clear out that saw spring practice end with only 60 healthy scholarship players. Secondary is an issue especially at cornerback once you get past Mekhi Blackmon. The offensive line remains a question mark despite returning three … Continue reading USC Has Several Weak Spots To Address
