Here’s a photo of the 1968 USC-Notre Dame game. The Trojans were ranked No. 2. The Irish were No. 9. No. 83 is USC defensive end Jimmy Gunn. No. 7 is Notre Dame QB Joe Theismann. And No. 74 is USC defensive tackle Tony Terry. The game ended in a 21-21 tie at the Coliseum. Continue reading USC Picture Of The Day
USC tight ends are expected to play a bigger role in the offense. That really isn’t saying much given the way Graham Harrell used tight ends. Malcom Epps says he doesn’t care about the tight ends’ role. But I suspect he does care if the tight ends will feature. Last week, Lincoln Riley said the offensive line was “progressing.” Well, USC scrimmaged Tuesday and here is what offensive line coach Josh Henson said: “I thought up front, at least the O-line, just too much inconsistency. That … Continue reading And Now For A Tradition That No Longer Exists
Lynn Swann has kept a low profile since he was fired by USC. But that usually changes the week of the Masters golf tournament. Swann attended last year’s tournament and is a fixture at Augusta National Golf Course, where he is a member. So this week, keep a look out because he is bound to turn up. Pat Haden is also a member but he’s … Continue reading USC Notes: It’s That Time Of The Year
Here’s some Monday night wisdom on rebuilding the offensive and defensive lines from USC coach Lincoln Riley: “I think we can be great there again (at the line of scrimmage) and for us to become the program we want to be, being great there again is not an option. It’s an absolute necessity. “We will look to add some key members to that here in … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Lincoln Riley Wants More Linemen
