USC linebacker Palaie Gaoteote has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Now he has been inconsistent at best his first few seasons despite being considered a can’t-miss prospect. But before the season, Clay Helton said this was going to be Gaoteote’s breakthrough season. I guess we can add that statement to the list of things Helton said that didn’t come through. WINNERS The Pac-12 There was a reason the conference made Washington State the lone North Division opponent for USC. And it worked masterfully on Sunday night. Did you watch all four quarters? This is what I meant when I talked for weeks about the “cushy” Pac-12 schedule. Still, you could see some holes if USC had happened to play a good team. Everything about this year is unpredictable but I don’t think they can push USC for four quarters, even if USC plays down to competition. So I will take USC, 42-20. … Continue reading My USC-Washington State Pick

With Cal defeating Oregon tonight, the Pac-12 North will likely send an unranked team to the conference championship game. That won’t help the Pac-12 or USC. So if Colorado keeps winning, maybe the Trojans and Buffs should play each other. At least it might be a game between two undefeated teams. Even if neither team played anyone good. I can think of worse ideas for … Continue reading With The Pac-12 North A Disaster, Maybe USC Should Play Colorado
