Feds Looking At Pat Haden In College Admissions Scandal
Federal prosecutors are looking to see if former USC athletic director Pat Haden was involved in the College Admissions scandal, according to the Wall Street Journal. A source told the Wall Street Journal that Haden introduced Donna Heinel to William “Rick” Singer, the mastermind of the college admissions scandal. “Mr. Haden brought Ms. Heinel into a meeting already under way on campus in his office, … Continue reading Feds Looking At Pat Haden In College Admissions Scandal
Tony Bland Gets Probation
Former USC assistant Tony Bland received two years probation and 100 hours community service today. Bland plead guilty to bribery conspiracy in the college basketball corruption scandal. This is a bit anti-climatic considering all the publicity generated by this scandal. Also, Bland basically ruined his coaching career for a crime worthy of probation. USC Morning Buzz: Chris Steele, Pat Casey Edition
Cornerback Chris Steele has decided to transfer to USC, according to the Oregonian. I’ll credit the players at USC over Clay Helton for this one. Steele should be eligible next season because he is a strong candidate to obtain an NCAA waiver, unless the NCAA starts counting commitments. Steele has committed to UCLA, USC, Florida, Oregon and USC again. I wonder what all those three-star cornerbacks … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Chris Steele, Pat Casey Edition

Stubbs was drafted in the 10th round by the Houston Astros, where his brother and fellow Trojan, Garrett, plays catcher. Garrett Stubbs was probably the most engaging USC player in the past 20 years, by the … Continue reading USC Afternoon Notes
A New Name For USC Baseball Job
I’m hearing USC would like to compile a list of about six coaching candidates for its baseball job. A new name I heard today: Baylor coach Steve Rodriguez, who also coached at Pepperdine from 2004-15. Rodriguez might need to take a pay cut to come to USC, believe it or not. Unless Lynn Swann wants to open his wallet. Other candidates include TCU assistant coach … Continue reading A New Name For USC Baseball Job
Will Chris Steele Flip Next?
Is Chris Steele going to join Bru McCoy at USC? After twice spurning the Trojans for Florida and Oregon, Steele visited USC on Monday and is having “second thoughts” about where to play? I suppose Steele can say he likes new defensive backs coach Greg Burns more than Ronnie Bradford. What many people do not realize is Clancy Pendergast likes to coach the secondary and … Continue reading Will Chris Steele Flip Next?
