Sam Darnold and Clay Helton Will Attend NFL Draft
Sam Darnold and Clay Helton will both attend the NFL Draft in Texas. That will be the first positive experience for them at AT&T Stadium. Meanwhile, Matt Fink threw two interceptions today but I said I wouldn’t dwell on the quarterbacks. I’m a little surprised on how glowing some reports of USC’s defense are on the internet. They are going against two unproven quarterbacks, backup … Continue reading Sam Darnold and Clay Helton Will Attend NFL Draft
Did Cody Kessler Throw A Better Deep Ball Than Sam Darnold?
USC radio announcer Pete Arbogast did an interview with the Cleveland Browns Daily radio show today to discuss Sam Darnold. The comment that drew the most attention in Cleveland was when Arbogast compared Darnold to Cody Kessler. “They throw a similar ball. I thought Kessler maybe threw a little better long ball.” I’m trying to think of any area where Kessler was superior to Darnold … Continue reading Did Cody Kessler Throw A Better Deep Ball Than Sam Darnold?

Quarterback Sam Darnold, who was in Cleveland yesterday, switched his flight so he could get back to Los Angeles in … Continue reading Ronald Jones Runs 4.48 At Second USC Pro Day

Here is how popular Los Angeles radio broadcaster Sam Balter, a former UCLA All-American, broadcast the story on his KLAC program on March 25, 1954: “I never thought I … Continue reading When The USC Band Took Over The Final Four
USC Ranked No. 12 By Sporting News
The Sporting News has its way-too-early Top 25 rankings and USC is No. 12. That seems high to me, given USC’s uncertainty on offense and some legitimate questions on defense. I also question whether the general sloppiness from last season has been addressed or will be corrected. But I would expect USC to be ranked in the top 15 of most preseason polls. USC is … Continue reading USC Ranked No. 12 By Sporting News
Should This Be Final Word On Quarterbacks?
Is it even worth mentioning USC’s quarterbacks are struggling this spring? Jack Sears threw another interception Tuesday but the bigger picture is this spring will be remembered for the problems experienced in the battle to replace Sam Darnold. “We have to get them right,” USC quarterbacks coach Bryan Ellis said. “It’s all on us. It’s all on me. I gotta get the quatterbacks understanding what … Continue reading Should This Be Final Word On Quarterbacks?
