USC-Tulane Has SEC Feel
The Cotton Bowl will have an SEC officiating crew. Referee Steve Marlowe is an Alabama graduate. Now you might not like Pac-12 refs, but a Pac-12 crew will do the Georgia-Ohio State game (Peach Bowl). Part of the reason for that is because you can’t have an SEC or Big Ten for this game. But Pac-12 officials have been busy during bowl season. They worked … Continue reading USC-Tulane Has SEC Feel
Caleb Williams Practices In Texas
Caleb Williams practiced today at AT&T Stadium. The media was able to watch the first 15 minutes so it was difficult to tell how close to 100 percent Williams looked. He wore a sleeve on his left leg. We’ll see if Lincoln Riley is forthcoming regarding Williams’ status. “The expectation here (at USC) is that the best players go on to play in the National … Continue reading Caleb Williams Practices In Texas
USC Morning Buzz: A 2023 Prediction
The 2022 season still has one more game left but I’m pulling out my crystal ball for a 2023 prediction. I predict USC will finally win the Pac-12 title next season and play in the College Football Playoff. USC will play Alabama in the semifinals and lose, 42-24. Even though the College Football Playoff expands in 2024, I think it will be tough for USC … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: A 2023 Prediction
Remembering Ernie Zampese
As New Year’s Day beckons, I’ll highlight some Trojans we lost in 2022. Former USC halfback Ernie Zampese was better known as a successful NFL offensive coordinator. Zampese was a left halfback at USC in 1955-56 and made his mark despite playing with star tailbacks Jon Arnett and C.R. Roberts. In 1956, Zampese was third in rushing (500 yards), second in passing, third in scoring and third in total … Continue reading Remembering Ernie Zampese
USC Notes: A Transfer Portal Update
Oklahoma State defensivc end Trace Ford is transferring to Oklahoma. Ford had visited USC and is a teammate of new Trojan linebacker Mason Cobb. Parking passes range from $40 to $300. Again, I’d like to know who is actually going to this game. Continue reading USC Notes: A Transfer Portal Update
Morning Buzz: Is A Motivated USC Team In Texas?
USC arrived in Texas and the big question is how motivated the Trojans will be for the game. Caleb Williams seems to want to play in the game, which is a good sign. It’s still hard to imagine USC will be as motivated as Tulane. “We want this game and this week to be reflective of the journey we’ve been on the last 12 months,” … Continue reading Morning Buzz: Is A Motivated USC Team In Texas?
