USC Notes: Step Closer To No-Crowd Games?
I asked @CAgovernor @GavinNewsom about the future of sports in California? "It's difficult to imagine a stadium full until we have a vaccine." What about playing in empty stadiums w testing? "It's difficult to imagine what leagues do when one or two players test positive?" pic.twitter.com/ANr6Zewtnt — Elex Michaelson (@Elex_Michaelson) May 7, 2020 https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js California and Oregon made news today that could whether USC has … Continue reading USC Notes: Step Closer To No-Crowd Games?
Want To Zoom With Clay Helton?
USC coach Clay Helton is going to do some Zoom sessions with interested members of the Trojan Athletic Fund. Each call is limited to 40 people and sessions are scheduled for May 8, May 15, May 22 and May 29. Sounds like a great opportunity to discuss hype videos. USC Morning Buzz: Making Videos More Important Than Having A Good Coach
I used to joke to certain groups of USC fans that they would rather finish No. 1 in the recruiting rankings than win a national title. Based on yesterday, I could probably say it’s more important to finish No. 1 in hype videos. There’s nothing wrong with hiring talented people. USC won, 29-18. The interesting part is Georgia Tech also wore its home uniforms, which it did in those days because its jerseys were a light color. However, when USC went to Georgia Tech … Continue reading USC Picture Of The Day
It’s Easy To Announce A Pay Cut
When I criticized USC last week for the way it leaked that Mike Bohn, Clay Helton and Andy Enfield were taking pay cuts, I said the normal way is to just put out an announcement. Exhibit A is Arizona today: Even more interesting, its baseball and women’s basketball coaches are also taking 20 percent pay cuts. A nice, transparent announcement. No back-scratching involved. Continue reading It’s Easy To Announce A Pay Cut
USC Hires Hype Video Duo
USC has hired Jacob Brown and Will Stout of LSU to lead its football video production dept. I know this is a big deal because all the sycophants (inside and outside USC) are celebrating it. Who writes the first puff feature on their coming to USC? Also, the athletic dept. must be doing OK financially because it made the hiring by working around a hiring … Continue reading USC Hires Hype Video Duo
