Raesjon Davis, a four-star linebacker from Mater Dei and Class of 2021 prospect, committed to LSU today. He is currently rated the No. 3-ranked outside linebacker in the nation per Rivals. So one more top Southern California prospect is leaving. Why would he go to USC? Aside from the fact USC is light years from LSU, just look at it from a high school junior’s … Continue reading 2020 Really Does Start Like 2019

Welcome to 2020! It looks similar to 2019, however. At the risk of being repetitive, how does USC change when it has no leadership at the very top of its football program. The offseason is where excuses get made: It was the defensive coordinator and special teams coach. It’s the small recruiting staff (which produced the nation’s No. 3-ranked class in 2018). Tight end Jack Yary, the son of USC legend Ron Yary, decommitted because he saw the offense does not use a tight end. But maybe worse is five-star tight end Darnell Washington of Las Vegas, who is one of the top … Continue reading USC’s Botched Tight End Recruitment

Oregon coach Mario Cristobal made this comment today at the Rose Bowl press conference: “We’ve always made Southern California a priority for us. For us, this is our home state. That’s what it is. We’ve made it a priority.” Oregon got Kayvon Thibodeaux last year, the state’s No. 1 player. USC put out a whisper campaign that it did not want him. Two weeks ago, … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Oregon Makes California “Home State”
