St. Patrick’s Day Restaurant Forum

It’s St. Patrick’s Day and we’ve been discussing classic restaurants, so here are two places to mention. Tam O’Shanter was founded in 1922 and is on 2980 Los Feliz Blvd. in Los Angeles. It’s technically a Scottish restaurant but let’s not get picky and it celebrates St. Patrick’s Day. Tom Bergin’s opened in 1936 and has been at 840 S. Fairfax Ave. in Los Angeles … Continue reading St. Patrick’s Day Restaurant Forum

Morning Buzz: Will USC Be Stronger This Year?

With spring practice starting Tuesday, I’m hearing positive comments from players regarding the new strength coaches. Now I’m always skeptical of praise for USC strength coaches because it tends to rely on athletic dept. spin. But so far the comments from players are more positive compared to the past few years when new strength coaches took over and were lavishly praised by adminstrators and social … Continue reading Morning Buzz: Will USC Be Stronger This Year?

USC Morning Buzz: A Better Version Of Spring Practice

One thing I like about USC spring practice is the Trojans will practice for one month straight and not have any breaks. In recent years, USC would practice for a week or maybe two weeks and then disappear for spring break. Then return for three more weeks. Now it might be possible Lincoln Riley started later simply because of the roster turnover but I still … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: A Better Version Of Spring Practice

USC Spring Practices Closed To Public

USC announced all spring practices will be closed to the public except for the spring game at the Coliseum, which will take place on April 23 at 12 p.m. (PT). As I wrote this morning, spring practice begins Tuesday. The April 23 game will be on ESPN with a broadcast team of Matt Barrie, Kirk Herbstreit, Joey Galloway and Molly McGrath. The game will be … Continue reading USC Spring Practices Closed To Public

Mike Bohn Named An Athletic Director Of Year

It’s not often you get Carol Folt and Rick Caruso to make official statements together but both praised Mike Bohn today for being named NACDA athletic director of the year. Bohn was actually one of four Football Bowl Subdivision athletic directors of the year and one of 28 overall as the list below shows. USC is omitting that, of course, and saying Bohn is “the” … Continue reading Mike Bohn Named An Athletic Director Of Year
