Arizona is awful. And nothing surprises me where USC is concerned. So who to pick today? With Arizona losing 19 straight games, they are bound to win at some point. I have no faith in Jedd the Fisch, however. USC should be able to win without even giving a full effort, which is normal for the Trojans. I’m taking USC, 31-20. I don’t expect Carol Folt to get it right on football. Two years ago, she did not want fire Clay Helton. But I do expect her to handle issues that concern the safety of USC students. Folt said in a letter sent to students and staff Friday that the university’s hotline received at least seven reports of possible drugging and possible sexual assault at a … Continue reading Morning Buzz: USC Lets Its Students Down (Again)
Let’s take a look at what’s going on with USC as it reels from the Notre Dame loss and welcomes 0-19 Arizona to the Coliseum. This was a good note from Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated: “One school has fired three coaches before November in the last 10 years.” (Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian, Clay Helton).” If Mike Bohn was going to fire Helton after two … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column

Did you hear some USC players were carving pumpkins after practice at Howard Jones Field yesterday? Gotta keep everyone loose and happy when they are 3-4, I guess. I wonder if Marv Goux ever tried that after a practice? Unfortunately I take my score back and will be taking Arizona due to new information about USC’s practice. Arizona – 34USC aka pumpkin carvers – 13 … Continue reading Morning Buzz: USC Likes Pumpkins
We are reaching silly season and the USC coaching search hasn’t even really heated up yet. But when Mike Tomlin and Jeff Fisher get mentioned, it’s obviously fair game to throw any names out there. So let me repeat what I’ve heard from my sources: Serious candidates right now are Mario Cristobal, Luke Fickell, Matt Campbell, James Franklin and Dave Aranda. It’s still October so … Continue reading It’s Silly Season For USC Coaching Search
