Have you noticed that yellow floor mat that is next to the USC sideline? Every time a USC player steps on it while running off the field, he slips and falls. Is it worth having it to risk an injury? The mat is kind of one of those solutions in search of a problem. Linebacker Chris Thompson, the transfer from Auburn, played last night. He … Continue reading Have You Noticed The Coliseum Injury Hazard?

The officiating, of course, drew the ire of USC and Washington State fans. There was a dodgy offensive pass interference call on Jordan Addison. Washington State was irate over a holding call that nullified an interception and a pass interference call. But we keep getting told the officiating is getting better. USC dropped a spot in the AP Top 25 poll to No. 7. Tennessee … Continue reading Sunday Buzz: USC-Washington State Refs Incense Both Sides

Thankfully, it’s over. Washington State used elements of Oregon State’s defense tonight and it clearly had an effect on the USC offense. Caleb Williams (15-29, 188 yards) had his second-worst game of the season. But don’t overfocus on him. Maybe that will give USC momentum. Quite a half. USC started out on fire. Then the defense wilted. The Trojans regrouped to take a 17-14 lead but it wasn’t a pretty first two quarters. USC fortunate … Continue reading USC-Washington State Live Blog

This is supposed to be a test. So is Utah, which laid an egg at the Rose Bowl today. These are Pac-12 tests. I can’t forget the way Washington State surrendered points in the fourth quarter against Oregon. USC’s defense might give up a lot of yards today but I can’t see Caleb Williams losing. And he’s the king of the team. So I’m taking … Continue reading My USC-Washington State Pick

It’s time for you to pick the score for the USC-Washington State game. The Trojans are 13-point favorites. I’ll pick my score later today. With Shane Lee battling an injury, it’s a reminder of what happened to linebacker Julien Simon this season? He doesn’t appear to be hurt but plays little. Remember Chris Thompson, the linebacker transfer from Auburn? He hasn’t played this season to … Continue reading Saturday Buzz: Who Wins USC-Washington State Game?
