USC Morning Buzz: Was Recruiting Aided In Unexpected Way?
With Signing Day on Wednesday, USC’s recruiting class is ranked No. 8 by Rivals. It’s obvious USC’s recruiting improved with its new staff (Donte Williams). Maybe an interesting question is whether USC actually was aided in recruiting by the pandemic? First, USC’s recruiting was not hurt by big losses to Alabama and Notre Dame. Second, could recruits make trips to sold-out stadiums in the SEC, … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Was Recruiting Aided In Unexpected Way?
A Night Time USC Horror Story
I wrote Friday about USC horror stories regarding old trophies. A USC booster emailed me this story today: “I remember going to Heritage Hall during the renovation. They threw autographed footballs into the trash. They had the framed team photos of the national championship teams from the 1960’s-70’s that were tossed into the bins. I normally don’t … Continue reading The Churn Continues With USC Football

Frankly, USC should do these type of things but more often focuses on Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush or Matt Barkley. Prentice Gill The Arizona State wide receivers’ coach got the Sun Devils to match a three-year offer from USC and avoided the Helton circus. Chris Claiborne … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Winners And Losers Of The Week
Who Is The Best Two-Sport Athlete In USC History?
Who is the best two-sport athlete in USC history? That’s a loaded question and there are many possible answers. One of my first thoughts is to mention Earl McCullough, who was a serious competitior in two sports. McCullough was a wide receiver at USC and played on the 1967 national championship team. He was a first-round pick in the NFL draft and offensive rookie of … Continue reading Who Is The Best Two-Sport Athlete In USC History?
