When Clay Helton/Mike Bohn Ignored Oregon Loss
Do you remember when the USC-UCLA game ended, Mike Bohn slapped Clay Helton on the butt, shook his hand and Helton said, “You’re still undefeated.” This was a reference to games Bohn attended. He conveniently missed the Oregon blowout because he went back to Cincinnati. But what did Helton say after the Holiday Bowl? Bohn attended that disaster. Maybe Helton said, “any regrets?” or “now, … Continue reading When Clay Helton/Mike Bohn Ignored Oregon Loss
USC Closes In On Recruit
I’m hearing USC is increasingly confident tight end Jack Yary will commit a second time and sign with the Trojans next week. Yary is the son of Ron Yary, one of the best offensive linemen in USC history, so it’s not exactly a surprise if he picks the Trojans. The question is whether USC will actually throw to the tight end? And how often Graham … Continue reading USC Closes In On Recruit

Below are photos of the plunge. Sarah Chester and her daughter, Payton, … Continue reading USC Night Notes
USC Afternoon Notes: Is Kedon Slovis The Man?
If you are one of those people who worries Clay Helton will find a way to start JT Daniels next season, I asked two USC coaches who would start at QB next season? They both said, “Kedon Slovis.” So if USC keeps Helton completely out of the process, there should be no problems. Cal and Notre Dame have agreed to play in South Bend on … Continue reading USC Afternoon Notes: Is Kedon Slovis The Man?
USC’s New Recruiting Tactic
You know how schools often get accused of negative recruiting against a rival. USC seems to take the opposite tactic: High school coaches tell me several recruits have been told not to worry about current players on the roster because they aren’t good enough. So USC is recruiting against itself. Maybe when you have the worst class in the Pac-12, you will try anything. I … Continue reading USC’s New Recruiting Tactic
