USC And United Offer Direct Flight To Notre Dame (With Bad Link)
United Airlines is offering some direct flights for college football fans, which I list at the bottom of this post. But the link USC tweeted out about direct flights from Los Angeles to South Bend did not work. Who to blame? USC or United? That’s a tough one. You can’t even do this right. pic.twitter.com/67kkRvxddY — Kevin (@kmac12380) June 20, 2019 https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Continue reading USC And United Offer Direct Flight To Notre Dame (With Bad Link)
USC Morning Buzz: Camp Stories!
Before getting too excited about June football camps at USC, remember four years ago Tee Martin‘s son committed to USC during a camp and then eight months later committed to Clemson (smart move on the kid’s part). One year when Pete Carroll was at USC, I went to a camp and during a lunch break, there was only a punter on the field trying to … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Camp Stories!
USC Night Notes
New USC baseball coach Jason Gill has hired former Nebraska assistant Ted Silva as an assistant coach. They were teammates at Cal State Fullerton and spent 2011 together at Loyola Marymount. USC fans might remember Silva as the winning pitcher for Cal State Fullerton in its 11-5 victory over USC in the 1995 College World Series championship game. Gill is also expected to retain USC … Continue reading USC Night Notes
The Recruiting Stars Don’t Always Matter
If you are distressed that recent USC commitment Kyle Juergens is a two-star prospect, it doesn’t mean the recruiting services are always right? Kenechi Udeze was not a highly regarded prospect until after he committed to USC. And sometimes it works in the reverse way. Why did recruiting services rank former point guard Derryck Thornton a five-star prospect? He was ranked the No. 14 player in … Continue reading The Recruiting Stars Don’t Always Matter
USC Notes: A Recruiting Trend Takes Hold
USC’s Elite Camp continues today. Among the top prospects are wide receiver LV Bunkley (Serra), Darion Green-Warren (Mater Dei), Domani Jackson (Mater Dei) and Jaylin Davies (Mater Dei). Also in attendance are five-star linebacker Justin Flowe (Upland) and five-star tailback Bijan Robinson (Salpointe). Here’s a stat: USC has had 13 commitments from high school football recruits in the Class of 2019, 2020 and 2021 since … Continue reading USC Notes: A Recruiting Trend Takes Hold
Morning Buzz: Does USC Have A Top 10 Receiver?
USA Today listed its 10 top wide receivers for this season and Amon-Ra St. Brown was No. 10. I don’t even think St. Brown was USC’s best receiver last season. That was Michael Pittman. St. Brown got awfully quiet at one five-game stretch last season despite JT Daniels‘ fixation with him. Look at the numbers: Washington State: 2 receptions for 38 yards Arizona: 5 receptions … Continue reading Morning Buzz: Does USC Have A Top 10 Receiver?
