USC Morning Buzz: Pat Haden Falls Even Further
Is Pat Haden such a diminished figure that he is now reduced to speaking through his son-in-law? He already has cut himself off from USC, including people who knew him as a player in the 1970’s, and when desired can hide away at his desert house. But at least the Wall Street Journal let us know he is one of the big fish out there … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Pat Haden Falls Even Further
USC To Interview Grand Canyon Coach Andy Stankiewicz
USC officials will interview Grand Canyon baseball coach Andy Stankiewicz on Thursday, the first coach to interview for the baseball job. Stankiewicz, who played for the Yankees, was an assistant at Arizona State before he took over at Grand Canyon in 2012. His record is 252-188-1. I also hear UC Santa Barbara coach Andrew Checketts might interview soon. Continue reading USC To Interview Grand Canyon Coach Andy Stankiewicz

USC Morning Buzz: Chris Steele, Pat Casey Edition
Cornerback Chris Steele has decided to transfer to USC, according to the Oregonian. I’ll credit the players at USC over Clay Helton for this one. Steele should be eligible next season because he is a strong candidate to obtain an NCAA waiver, unless the NCAA starts counting commitments. Steele has committed to UCLA, USC, Florida, Oregon and USC again. I wonder what all those three-star cornerbacks … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Chris Steele, Pat Casey Edition
USC Afternoon Notes
A former USC All-American emailed me after seeing the photos of JT Daniels and Jack Sears: “Sonny Jurgensen was only fat QB who had success.” USC baseball player C.J. Stubbs was drafted in the 10th round by the Houston Astros, where his brother and fellow Trojan, Garrett, plays catcher. Garrett Stubbs was probably the most engaging USC player in the past 20 years, by the … Continue reading USC Afternoon Notes
