USC Morning Buzz: Another Deal Under Scrutiny
If you need another example of the Max Nikias effect at USC, here’s an article in Los Angeles magazine on how Arnold Schwarzenegger gave the university $20 million and got an institute and full professorship named after him to clean up “his raunchy reputation.” Kind of like how $15 million got a residental college named after Al Cowlings. Redshirt freshman Matt Robinson was considered the frontrunner after the Illini concluded spring practice, which is why M.J. Rivers decided to leave last weekend. Incoming freshman Isaiah Williams is considered the quarterback of the future. There is … Continue reading Did Matt Fink Make Right Decision?
USC Morning Buzz: Coliseum Seat Fees Continue To Rankle
One of the perks when you work in the athletic dept. is you get a couple free tickets to football games. But two athletic dept. employees tell me a new policy is in effect that makes the employees pay the “Coliseum Restoration Gift” of $500 per seat. So the free tickets would actually cost $1,000. As Lynn Swann says, “the change will come.” Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Coliseum Seat Fees Continue To Rankle
